Congratulations Jaelyne Romero!
Our 2026 National CTE Student of the Year, Jaelyne Romero, exemplifies the best qualities of a rising star in CTE: skill, compassion, and purpose-driven leadership. She has distinguished herself not only as an exceptional agriculture student, but also as a leader whose influence uplifts her peers, her school, and her community.
A dedicated member of her school’s FFA chapter, Jaelyne has served as a chapter officer for three consecutive years and is currently Chapter President. She has successfully raised and shown multiple livestock projects, been a part of her chapter’s vegetable judging team, and competed in several speaking competitions through the FFA. As a freshman, Jaelyne earned her OSHA 10-Hour Card through CareerSafe’s General Industry (Agriculture) course, reflecting an early commitment not only to the field of agriculture, but also to workplace safety and professional standards.
Academically, Jaelyne has continuously taken on rigorous coursework, maintaining strong grades and participating in National Honor Society, AVID, and dual enrollment. Beyond school, Jaelyne carries significant responsibility at home, including helping her mother care for her younger brother. She also gives back through regular volunteer work at her local library, including participation in the Book Buddies program, where she reads to elementary students. Balancing rigorous coursework with leadership and extracurricular commitments showcases Jaelyne’s exceptional time management, motivation, and resilience.
Jaelyne plans to attend California State University, Chico to study Agricultural Science and become an agriculture teacher. We can’t wait to see all the success her future holds!

CareerSafe’s National CTE Student of the Year award recognizes an exceptional CTE student who has demonstrated remarkable skills, innovation, and dedication in their chosen CTE pathway, as well as the personal qualities of leadership, perseverance, and a passion for continuous learning.
