The Personal Financial Management course, with a seat time of one hour, teaches students to develop and grow skills, assuring day-to-day financial stability. Students will also learn to lay the groundwork for future success by having adequate emergency funds, building solid credit, and planning for future expenses.

  • • Explain how maintaining a good credit score increases your financial and employment opportunities.
  • • Describe strategies for maintaining a good credit score.

Managing a Personal Budget

Given limited resources, the student will be able to make effective money management decisions towards the progress of a financial goal. Specifically, the student should be able to:
  • • Recognize a personal budget as a tool to meet financial goals.
  • • Describe the process of creating a personal budget.
  • • Identify the components of a personal budget.
  • • List strategies and tools for creating and maintaining a personal budget.
  • • Select appropriate financial decisions to meet a goal working within a budget.
