National Youth Safety Video Contest

 

CareerSafe®, Safety Education for America's Future, is excited to sponsor the 2014-2015 National Youth Safety Video Contest.  Students across the country are challenged to create a video demonstrating safety in the workplace.

Submission:

Videos submitted as part of this contest must be created by the Entrant and must convey a message related to youth safety in the workplace. Videos may not have been previously submitted, distributed, aired or have won any other award in any other competition. You must upload your video to YouTube and submit the video url with your entry forms. For information on how to upload your video please see the YouTube instructions that can be found on the information page of the contest site. Your submission package must include the following:

One Official Entry Form completed by Entrant (and Parent/Guardian for Entrants under 18) including the YouTube Video URL

One Consent and Release Liability Form completed and signed by Entrant (and Parent/Guardian for Entrants under 18)

One Consent and Release Liability Form completed and signed by each individual whose image or voice is used in the video indicating permission for such has been granted to the Entrant

Video file in the required formats:

Saved to CD-ROM or DVD

File format of .avi, .mov, .mpg, .wmv

No more than 100 MB in file size

No more than 2 minutes playing time

Do NOT include any student's name within your video

All videos should be postmarked by March 1, 2015 and mailed to:

Eligibility:

All career and technical education students that are legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 13 years of age or older as of September 1, 2014.

Each entry must have a sponsor (e.g. teacher, mentor, advisor, or parent/guardian)

Limit one (1) entry per team. A team may be comprised of one to five members. You can download a complete list of the contest rules.

 

Judging:

Part 1: Judges from CareerSafe, SkillsUSA, and OSHA will review all videos and select the top 12 videos.

Part 2: Videos will be release for public voting on April 15. Students can share their video with others to receive additional votes.

Final: The videos with the combined highest scores from both parts of judging will receive the top 3 prizes.

 

Top Prizes:

Winners will be announced June 2014 at the opening session of the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, KY.
