CareerSafe lays a long-term groundwork for future career success.  The injury rate for workers ages 16-24 is twice that of the general population. Students that complete the CareerSafe courses will receive:

  • Training providing entry level workers and employees basic safety awareness training to recognize, avoid and prevent safety and health hazards in the workplace.
  • Program also provides information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities and how to file a complaint.
  • Receive a wallet card that demonstrates to employers that they have received safety training needed in the workplace.
  • Become more employable, gaining a competitive advantage in the job market.

CareerSafe offers three different courses for students to take: CareerSafe Safety Awareness Training, OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Training and OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Training. Every 2 minutes, 1 youth is injured in the workplace. Every 7 minutes 1 youth is hospitalized from a workplace incident. Every 5 days, one youth is killed on the job. Be Prepared. Be Proactive. - Know the risks and prevent an incident.
