By providing their students with safety training, educators gain the satisfaction of knowing they have educated their students academically and improved their students' safety and employability.

COLLEGE STATION, TX - September 22, 2015 - CareerSafe Online has joined the National Job Corps Association (NJCA) in its mission of helping disadvantaged youth through educational advancement and training skills that result in Job Corps students becoming employable, independent and meaningful contributors to their country.

Job Corps is the leading residential, education and training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 through 24 improve the quality of their lives through vocational and academic training at no cost to the student. Job Corps has trained nearly 3 million young adults for meaningful careers since 1964. Job Corps is committed to offering all students a safe and productive environment where they can take advantage of the resources provided.

“Through the generosity and commitment of organizations like CareerSafe Online, we are able to change lives and invest in the futures of young, hard-working individuals,” said Lonnie P. Taylor, President & CEO of NJCA, which unites those organizations behind efforts to preserve, advance and grow the program and its young people. “On behalf of the entire Job Corps community, I want to thank CareerSafe Online for partnering with the National Job Corps Association and in making the difference in our young students’ lives.”

There are currently 126 Job Corps centers located across the country in all 50 states. A unique national program, Job Corps offers at-risk youth a set of diverse academic opportunities and career pathways tailored to meet the needs of business and industry. Each year, Job Corps gives tens of thousands of youth a second chance to complete their education and advance into careers, higher education or the military.

“We value opportunities to build relationships with and give back to exceptional organizations like the National Job Corps Association. We hope to continue bringing more awareness to workplace safety and in doing so we will make a difference. No job is worth a young worker’s life. It is our shared goal to reduce the risk of serious injuries or death for youth in the workplace,” said Dr. Larry Teverbaugh, Founder and CEO of CareerSafe Online.

Based on current statistics, young workers, ages 16-24, continue to have the highest rates of work related injuries and illnesses; greater than any other age group. CareerSafe’s mission is to deliver Safety Education for America’s Future. The vision is to advance and enhance OSHA’s outreach by providing every young worker with workplace safety training prior to taking their first job. By preparing these individuals for their first entry-level jobs and future career opportunities with safety and health training, young workers will be more capable of protecting themselves and others.
