By providing their students with safety training, educators gain the satisfaction of knowing they have educated their students academically and improved their students' safety and employability.







The Safety Educator of the Year Award, sponsored by CareerSafe, recognizes exceptional educators who have not only dedicated their time to prepare students for the future but to also help students recognize and mitigate workplace hazards in their chosen careers.



  • Educators of all levels (middle, secondary, postsecondary) are eligible
  • All featured CareerSafe Classroom Highlights from August 2016 - July 2017
  • Nominations can also come from the CareerSafe web form submissions


CareerSafe wants to recognize educators around the country that are taking strides to educate youth in the workplace safety. To nominate an educator for the CareerSafe Safety Educator of the Year Award, please fill out this Nomination Form.

If a nominated individual is selected as a finalist, CareerSafe will reach out for additional information.


  • All web form nominations must be received by September 1st, 2017
  • Judging will take place September through October
  • Each finalist will receive a profile hosted on the CareerSafe website featuring a write-up on how they incorporate safety in the classroom
  • Peers and students will have the opportunity to vote for the Safety Educator of the Year


The winning educator will be announced at ACTE's CareerTech VISION Awards Banquet in 2017. The award includes: $5,000 cash prize for the classroom, all expenses trip paid to ACTE's CareerTech VISION, and annual ACTE membership.

The 2017 Safety Educator of the Year will be announced at the ACTE's CareerTech VISION Awards Ceremony in December 2017 in Nashville, Tennessee.
