I believe the work that SkillsUSA is doing  with CareerSafe represents one of the most significant partnerships in the history of our organization.  The CareerSafe program and the OSHA credential that accompanies it fits perfectly into Career and Technical Education programs and the SkillsUSA program of work that stresses safety as a key ingredient in technical training.  CareerSafe is good for all youth in America and is on the leading edge of online, interactive technology that inspires interest in the subject matter and keeps students engaged in learning the importance of occupational health and safety in the current workplace and in their future careers.  CareerSafe is about training; it's about careers; it's about life.”

I think the Career Safe online safety course was a great learning experience and very informative. I was made aware of certain hazard situations that could happen that I otherwise would not have thought about if I hadn’t taken the course. I was also made aware of how I could effectively prevent such hazard situations. I incorporate the safety practices that I have learned into my every-day work habits. I would recommend this course to educators, students, and anyone in the work force as an excellent learning tool.

“ What TEEX and OSHA are doing for our students and teachers is unsurpassed. Thank you for allowing TIVA to be involved in this project. It makes our association stronger. The true strength that we gain is being able to say that we are helping our teachers and students be safer in the classroom and on the job.”

Linda Holcomb, Executive Director
Texas Industrial and Vocation Association (TIVA)

“The Career Safe safety course gave me a great perspective on how to keep others and myself safe from injury while working or while they were in an area where hazardous actions were taking place. The topics were all very clearly discussed, and I feel that I have obtained vast knowledge from it. The course is a first-class means of learning.”

“The Career Safe Program is a great tool to create an awareness of safety in the work place. In addition, it helps students prepare to deal with safety issues they may encounter as they enter the workforce. Because Career Safe is self-paced and interactive, students will have an easy time working through the program—it's fun and interesting.”

Heidi Ambrose, Associate Director
SkillsUSA, Office of Training Membership and Programs

“The CareerSafe Program addresses many safety issues in a multitude of work environments. I felt it enhanced our Health Careers Program for the 2003-2004 school year. In addition, the support staff was very helpful. Thank you.”

Sheryl Helmig, Health Careers Instructor

“CareerSafe is an outstanding online program that teaches occupational safety in a way that is appealing to young adults. Students are guided through 10 modules at a comfortable pace, with interesting content that makes learning about safety fun. CareerSafe allows high schools or colleges to provide top-notch workplace safety training within the technical training program, but without creating extra work for the instructor. CareerSafe also provides a valuable workplace credential for program graduates that may help students to get a job or advance in their future career.”
