Students    Educators    Administrators    Employers    Families & Communities

The CareerSafe program holds benefits for practically every aspect of society. By promoting the importance of safety in all situations, this program is reaching beyond the classroom, helping students, educators, school administrators, employers, and families be safe. This results in benefits for the entire community. Below are some of the ways CareerSafe benefits these groups.

Students:

By completing the CareerSafe Online Course, students:

  • Develop a safety mindset and learn valuable skills for their futures.
  • Receive a wallet card that can demonstrate to employers that they have received the basic safety training needed in the workplace.
  • Become more employable, gaining a competitive advantage in the job market.

Educators:

By providing their students with safety training, educators gain the satisfaction of knowing they have educated their students academically and improved their students’ safety and employability.

School Administrators:

As a school official or administrator, you have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on individual lives, your educational institution and your community by encouraging and supporting your students and teachers to learn safety and its importance in the workplace. Quite literally, you could supply teachers and students with the knowledge that could save lives and prevent injuries for years into the future.

Employers:

Employers stand to benefit greatly from making this training available to students and teachers. By helping to provide this training, employers gain access to entry-level job candidates who have already been trained in the critical elements of safety and understand the importance of safe work habits and conditions. Further, employers may also benefit fiscally from reductions in worker compensation claims and insurance rates as well as OSHA penalties.

Families and the Community:

By creating a culture that affirms the value of safe work practices and is committed to creating safer environments, the benefits of CareerSafe training reach beyond the students, educators, administrators, and employers directly involved with the program and extend into families and communities. When students become safety-minded, their homes become safer places to live and work. When teachers become safety advocates, that passion is conveyed to their students. When the tangible benefits of safe work practices and environments become clear to school administrators and employers, they are shared with the entire community.

As individuals, we make a difference in our community. As a community, we have a responsibility to make a difference in the lives of those individual youth workers who are stepping into their first jobs.
